May 30 – Inspiration Point
At the end of the walk, just inside the entrance, Wilson Warblers, Orange-crowned Warblers, Bewick’s Wrens, Chickadees, and Oak Titmice began vocalizing excitedly and hovering around a 18 -24 inch spotted snake that had climbed partway into the Coyote Brush. The birds eventually moved off – but not until after a good long stand-off. The snake eventually backed down to the ground.
